Tra Terra e Acqua

Tra Terra e Acqua

Over a hundred works including paintings, watercolors, and sketchbooks depict the Lagoon of Venice and the Valli di Jesolo through the perspective of six naturalist artists from the Ars et Natura collective, coordinated by ornithologist Fernando Spina. The exhibition path arises from direct field experiences and presents, with scientific rigor and artistic sensitivity, the evolution of one of the most delicate and strategic ecosystems in the Mediterranean.

Among the featured artists is Federico Gemma, one of the most authoritative interpreters of contemporary naturalistic art and a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists. The works on display tell stories of habitats, species, and lagoon landscapes through travel sketchbooks, real-life observations, and studies focused on light and animal behavior, offering a thorough look at the ongoing changes in the Jesolo lagoon.

The path proposes a reflection on the relationship between humans and the environment and the value of wetlands, which are fundamental ecosystems for biodiversity and the balance of the water cycle, increasingly exposed to the effects of climate change. In this context, the Lagoon of Venice and the Valli di Jesolo represent a strategic node in the migratory corridors of the Upper Adriatic, a stopover and wintering point for hundreds of thousands of birds each year.

An invitation to get to know the lagoon and its transformations more closely through a perspective that combines art, science, and environmental awareness.
