The evening will present the submerged habitats of the Upper Adriatic, particularly the Tegnue, rocky outcrops along the coasts of Veneto, from Chioggia to Caorle, which constitute true oases of biodiversity. Scientific research studies their origin, linked to intricate geological and biological processes, among which the escape of methane from sediments plays a role.
Numerous projects have been conducted over time to study and protect these ecosystems and their biodiversity, seeking to reconcile environmental protection and local economic activities such as fishing and tourism. To do this, it is necessary to strengthen ties with the local culture, while also being included in a broader territorial context. Raising awareness and involving the public, particularly the youth, plays a central role in this strategy. It is essential to promote a conscious and sustainable use, so that the natural and cultural value of these environments can be preserved for future generations.
During the evening, there will be ample space for the presentation of the Marine Oasis "Città di Caorle", located off Porto Falconera, a hidden treasure in the waters of the Adriatic, managed, on behalf of the Municipality of Caorle, with care and passion by the divers of the Caorle Diving Group.
The documentary "Submerged Environments of the Northern Adriatic – Ten Years of European Commitment for Conscious Use" will also be screened.
Free entry.
The evening is part of the Interreg Trecap Italy – Slovenia project.
