On Saturday, June 20 at 9.00 p.m. in Piazza Milano, the inauguration ceremony for the sculpture "The Tourist" will take place, a work of art donated to the City of Jesolo by the artist Lumier (Giovanni Piovan).
The donation of this work represents an important artistic gesture that enriches the urban decor, becoming a new symbol for the city and a shared heritage available to residents and guests.
"The Tourist" is a sculpture that embodies the idea of a traveler exploring the world in search of values that seem to have been lost: love, peace, freedom, and everything that derives from it. Made of carbon steel, this work aims to convey the feeling of tranquility and serenity typical of someone who stops to contemplate a landscape, taking a moment to reflect on their existence. The figure of the tourist, with their clothing, reveals a life rich in experiences, a past that has shaped them and made them who they are. Now, in the silence of that moment of reflection, they are in search of a place of eternal rest, a spot where they can finally find their sense of being, a balance that eludes them during their long journey. The sculpture thus represents not only the desire to explore the world but also an inner journey towards peace and self-understanding.
