What next?!

Nasser Teymourpour is an Anglo-Iranian multidisciplinary artist residing in Italy, whose practice transforms the intersection between conceptual art, materiality, and lived experience into a space for reflection on power, violence, memory, and the body. Trained in Industrial Design in Tehran and later in Scenography at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (Die Angewandte), he has developed, over nearly twenty-five years of artistic activity, a layered and autonomous visual language. His participation in the First and Second Exhibit of Conceptual Art at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran, along with eight solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in Europe and Southwestern Asia, reflects a constant inquiry related to conceptual and processual practices in contemporary art.

In his work, matter is never just an expressive means but becomes a space through which meaning is produced, eroded, displaced, and transformed.

This project is based on the idea that art, in addition to representing or reflecting social and political realities, can itself become a field of tension, interference, and redefinition. Political and social issues enter the works through process, matter, repetition, removal, collapse, and sometimes through an almost obsessive focus on the form itself. What emerges as central is not just the event, but the mechanisms through which perception is produced, oriented, and stabilized.

In this approach, war, migration, oppression, gender, body, and collective memory do not present themselves as separate themes, but as intertwined layers through which differences between lived experience, alternative discourse, micro-narratives, and official or dominant narratives are outlined. The images here oscillate between form and document; they become sites of conflict where words, symbols, and even materials lose their stability, entering into an unstable and intertextual condition.

The exhibition includes a multidisciplinary corpus that spans painting, drawing, printmaking, animation, performance, and installation, all practices that can be traced back to the realm of conceptual art. In many of these media, the process of creation constitutes an inseparable part of the work's meaning. Erosion, destruction, repetition, and material transformation do not represent mere formal strategies, but reflect the same conditions to which the works refer.

Ultimately, this project attempts to open a fracture within stabilized narratives; a space where the viewer confronts not definitive answers, but a suspended condition of perception, memory, and meaning.

Opening September 19 at 5:30 p.m.
