The free Christmas visits organized by the volunteers of the Campedel Association return this year to discover the artistic treasures of the churches in Belluno: two appointments to unveil the history and the works of the sacred places in the area through stories, anecdotes, and curiosities.
On Saturday, December 27th at 4:30 PM, we will visit the Church of Santo Stefano. Built between 1468 and 1491, it preserves important artistic testimonies including the Cesa Chapel with the wooden altarpiece by Matteo Cesa and a cycle of frescoes from the late 15th century.
The building also houses works by local artists from the 16th to the 18th century and artifacts from vanished churches, as well as a characteristic bell tower with a 17th-century 24-hour clock.
Reservations are not required. Meeting point at the entrance of each church.
