"Touching the Void"
Lodo Guenzi, directed by Silvio Peroni, stars – alongside Eleonora Giovanardi, Giovanni Anzaldo, and Matteo Gatta – in Touching the Void, a play by Scottish playwright David Greig, presented for the first time in Italy in a translation by Monica Capuani and produced by Pierfrancesco Pisani and Isabella Borettini for Infinito, Argot Produzioni, and Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri with the support of Regione Toscana. The theme revolves around choices, ethical and otherwise, between passion, guilt, friendship, and resilience.
Basing on a true story, the play is set in 1985 during the climb in the Peruvian Andes, where climbers Joe Simpson (played by Lodo Guenzi) and Simon Yates (Giovanni Anzaldo) become victims of an accident during the descent phase which causes Joe to fall into a ravine. (...)
