"My Father, Notes on the Civil War" by Andrea Pennacchi.
Upon the father's death, reality crashes in suddenly, like waking up after a party where one didn’t have fun and drank too much, even the scent in the bathroom. It's morning, everything hurts, memory is confused, and disorder reigns. And the very person who knew how to put everything back in order is no longer there. Thus concludes the fabulous '90s: the end of a party, the beginning of a new awareness.
Like a mature and burdened Telemachus, Andrea Pennacchi embarks on a search for his father and his history as a partisan, prisoner, but above all his personal Odyssey of returning to a war-torn Italy. Hoping to find a lesson on how to set things right.
