"Buffoons in Hell"
Depths of the desolate lands of hell. A quiet and eternal day of excruciating torture. Suddenly, a raucous barking rises; it is the devils of Malebranche running back and forth in search of their King: the terrible Satan. On the banks of the Styx, countless souls have arrived, abruptly taken to the other world by a devastating, bubonic, deadly and cowardly plague. The Underworld is suddenly congested, and Minos, the merciless judge of souls, is forced to perform immortal leaps to examine everyone's sins. The process is slow, the spirits protest, rebel, insults fly, and a few nasty blasphemies are heard. Beelzebub, with profound wisdom, offers a reprieve to the souls of three buffoons, Zuan Polo, Domenico Tagliacalze, and Pietro Gonnella, to return to doing what they did best in life: entertain. The show revives the ancient art of the buffoon, the quintessential entertainer, the most devoted practitioner of laughter.(...)
