The late Renaissance palace built by Minucci Minucci indeed houses a valuable and little-known art collection, but, above all, a collection of life: paintings, jades, finely decorated porcelain and ceramic vases, carpets, sacred and profane furnishings, books, medals, and keepsakes, all gathered throughout an adventurous life by the last owner of the Palace: Camillo De Carlo, who was a...secret agent...Among the countless preserved objects, the paintings by G.B. Pittoni, Bassano (attr.), Felice Carena, and Gaspare Diziani, as well as the sculptures by Arturo Martini and Andrea Brustolon (attr.) deserve to be mentioned.
Everything has been left on display as De Carlo wished, in the rooms of the palace arranged according to a vitalistic taste, a sign of an era. Among all, the kitchen stands out for its curiosity and spectacularity: spacious and tidy, with cabinets that hide away any possible “disorder” from the view of unwary guests, but also storing countless sets of dishes, glassware, and crystal, utensils, cutlery, and all the essentials for a chef’s kitchen.
