The international outdoor sculpture symposium returns, which, over the past thirty years, has transformed the cliff of the city of Caorle into a true open-air museum. Since its inception in 1993, ScoglieraViva has grown and developed, becoming an eagerly awaited event for artists, tourists, art lovers, and enthusiasts. This seaside art gallery, unique of its kind in the world, represents one of the most picturesque locations in the ancient Venetian fishing village and is an attraction for thousands of tourists from all over Europe but is also a treasure for all citizens.
ScoglieraViva this year officially presents the catalog of the works created so far. A prestigious volume that confirms the cultural importance of the event and the artistic value of the sculptures made.
Now in its 22nd edition, ScoglieraViva establishes itself as a biennial symposium and continues to enrich the waterfront, which now features 138 works.
Initially figurative, the works have undergone an evolution over the years, addressing increasingly relevant themes. In addition to stylistic evolution, social and historical issues have also become leading topics, leaving an indelible mark sculpted on the Caorle cliff.
The 2025 edition of ScoglieraViva stars three new artists, among whom the presence of a female sculptor, Katharina Mörth, is maintained, a German artist who shapes the bond between man and nature. Her work, deeply rooted in a reflection on the relationship between human beings and nature, transcends geographical boundaries, finding resonance and appreciation in symposia and collections around the world. The artist, through a distinctive and powerful sculptural language, invites us to confront fundamental questions of our existence and our impact on the planet.
Alongside her, the Slovenian sculptor Arijel Štrukelj is presented. His mastery in shaping stone merges with a deep conceptual research, giving life to works that explore the human condition, spirituality, and the intrinsic bond between the individual and the universe.
The third work is created by Renato Brunello, an internationally renowned sculptor who represents a living bridge between his beloved homeland and the world. Born in Veneto, just steps away from picturesque Caorle, Brunello has spent much of his artistic life in Brazil, where he has achieved recognition and high-level prestige. Despite the geographical distance and success overseas, the call of his roots has always been strong, and today it materializes with his long-awaited return to his homeland, in Caorle, to leave his indelible mark on the cliff.
Tourists and residents will be able to observe the three artists at work from June 18 to June 28, 2025. The event's structure as an artistic symposium also provides the public with an opportunity for direct dialogue with the present artists who can explain in their own words, emotions, and sensations the works in progress.
On Saturday 28th June 2025, at 9:00 PM in Piazza Matteotti, the inauguration evening will be held, where the 3 new works will be presented to the public, which will be added to the already existing 135 sculpted in past editions.
