
There are eight stories finalists in the 35th edition of the Trichiana Paese del Libro Literary Prize that will now pass into the hands of the jury, led by writer Marco Balzano, who will determine the final ranking.
The festival associated with the Prize expands this year with a series of proposals for children and their families.
It starts on Friday, July 11 at 8:30 PM at the Barchessa of the Palazzo delle Contesse in Mel (Auditorium of San Piero in case of bad weather) with the puppet show The Strange Lunch of Hansel and Gretel, a sparkling version of the famous fairy tale, told through puppets and animated dolls by the company “La casa degli Gnomi.”
Following this, on Friday, July 18 at 8:30 PM in Piazzetta Saubens in Trichiana (Cinema San Felice in case of bad weather), the show Captains to the Boarding will be presented, a narrated and animated performance that dives into ancient stories inhabited by deities and sea monsters, wrecks, storms, and mysteries.
This year the Festival will also host a preliminary stage leading to the ninth Reading Marathon Il Veneto legge, which takes place every year at the beginning of October. Indeed, on Sunday, July 13 at 5:00 PM there will be a silent reading party followed by readings organized by the group Leggere per leggere and a brief convivial moment immersed in the beauty of the Prelapi. The stage involves a slow approach on foot to then gather in a suggestive place for reading.
For comic book lovers, on Saturday, July 19 at 6:00 PM in Piazzetta Saubens (Cinema San Felice in case of bad weather), there will be a meeting with Francesco Matteuzzi, author, together with Luca Debus, of the comic biography of Charles M. Schulz titled Funny Things.
On Monday, July 21 at 8:30 PM at the garden of Villa Francescon, Auditorium of San Piero in case of bad weather, Senator Elena Cattaneo will be a guest with her book Scientists. Stories of Life and Research. The evening will be held with the support of Raffaello Cortina Editore.
On Tuesday, July 22 at 8:30 PM at the garden of the Palazzo Nuovo Oratorio in Lentiai (indoors in case of rain), there will be a meeting with the writer Maria Grazia Calandrone, author of works including Where You Didn't Take Me and Magnificent and Terrible Was Love. The evening is organized in collaboration with the Belluno Donna Association.
On Friday, July 25 at the garden of Villa Piloni in Carfagnoi, Trichiana (Sala San Felice in case of rain), Marco Balzano, award-winning writer of the Campiello Prize and candidate for the Strega Prize, will present his latest novel Child in which the author recovers the great civil theme of the memory and identity of a civilization marked by the horrors of war, through a complex character that presents a thousand facets.
On Saturday, July 26 at 6:00 PM at the garden of Villa Piloni in Carfagnoi (Sala San Felice in case of bad weather), the awards ceremony for the 35th edition of the National Literary Prize Trichiana Paese del Libro will take place. The awards will be accompanied by a jazz concert curated by the trio gli In-jazzati, during the evenings the groups Facciamo Centro and Il lettore sostenibile (Together We Can) will be present with a stall of used books waiting for new readers to give them their stories.
