Paris: Terre d'Italiens – the new winter exhibition at the Bafile Cultural Center in Caorle.
Paris, a promised land for generations of Italian artists! From Giorgio de Chirico to Giorgio Morandi, from Gio Ponti to Lucio Fontana, a journey to discover the protagonists who contributed to transforming the French capital into one of the nerve centers of modern and contemporary art.
An exhibition that tells the deep bond between Italian artists and Paris, a place of meeting, dialogue, and experimentation, where for over half a century artistic paths, friendships, rivalries, and aesthetic revolutions have intertwined, capable of changing the face of European art.
From the Belle Époque to the avant-gardes, from the Italiens de Paris to the explorations of the post-war period, the exhibition pathway crosses different generations and sensitivities, putting Italian protagonists in dialogue with some of the great international figures, including Pablo Picasso, Paul Jenkins, and Andy Warhol. A narrative that restores the richness of cultural exchanges between Italy and France, up to the gradual emergence of New York as the new capital of contemporary art.
Paris: Terre d'Italiens retraces this extraordinary cultural adventure, giving a voice not only to the great masters but also to lesser-known personalities and individual stories that contributed to building a fundamental season in the history of art. For some artists, Paris was a stop in the search for success; for others, it was a place to find new expressive freedom, becoming a second home and a space to reinvent their identity without forgetting their origins.
A journey through over half a century of art history, between Italy and France, discovering the men, ideas, and relationships that have left a profound mark on modern and contemporary art.
