There are conditions that never affect a person alone: they impact entire family units, reshaping balances, affections, and daily life. To break the silence and isolation that often surround neurodegenerative diseases, the community is mobilizing with a public awareness and sharing meeting focused on the figure of the caregiver.
The appointment, organized by the Municipality of Vittorio Veneto in collaboration with the Medi@età association, the AUSER Filo Arcobaleno Association, and under the patronage of Azienda ULSS2, will also offer a space for medical discussion and will be above all a moment of deep human closeness.
The beating heart of the meeting will be the presentation of a text "Poppies and Ducks. Disheveled Notes of a caregiver" written and performed by Paola Perin, an artist and also the contact person for the 'Le Farfalle' Relief Center in Vittorio Veneto. The text is an intimate and powerful testimony of a caregiver witnessing a fragment of their own story that veers towards oblivion.
The meeting is structured to combine the value of storytelling with scientific information. On this occasion, opportunities for family support that the community can offer will also be presented.
