Returning with its 18th edition Veneto Spectacles of Mystery, the festival promoted by the Veneto Region and organized by UNPLI Veneto, dedicated to the most fascinating places, characters, and stories of regional popular tradition.
On Saturday, October 24 from 4:30 p.m. there is a scheduled guided tour titled "Mules, Horses, and Dragons - The Mysterious Side of Belluno".
In the streets of downtown Belluno lies a bestiary made of history, memory, and legend. The faithful mule of the Alpini, the silent companion of efforts and battles, leads us into the real history, made of men, animals, toil, and memory.
The horse of Saint Martin, the protagonist of the image of the patron saint, takes us into agiographic tradition and the figure of the saint, between faith, images, and stories handed down through the centuries.
And then the two mysterious dragons of the city’s coat of arms, ancient guardians of Belluno and its identity, open the door to legend and popular imagination.
A journey through folk tales, symbols, and testimonies that will bring forth real and fantastic animals, still present today in the memory of the city.
A walk-show between history and mystery, to discover that perhaps, in Belluno, the beasts have never stopped telling their tales.
