On Thursday, January 21 at 9:00 p.m. the show "Letters from the Beyond" will take place at the Dino Buzzati Municipal Theater.
How much space does what is no longer there occupy?
Elio cannot cry; he just can’t do it. He, who lost both parents in a car accident when he was just a teenager, now finds himself disoriented in the face of fragility. Yet his condition as an orphan has defined him entirely: in his relationships, in his passions, in his interactions with others. He works as a journalist, and ironically, he writes obituaries. However, when he finds himself with the opportunity to change and have a column of his own, all he seems able to talk about is death and mourning. Yet if he wants to save his relationship with Arianna, exhausted by living with a partner who never lets himself go emotionally, if he wants to heal his friendship with Vlad, a young priest in a mid-crisis between a friend and a confessor, in short, if he wants to save himself and not be left alone with his grief, Elio will have to begin to open up and find something new to identify with, different from death.
Something alive.
Letters from the Beyond is a show that is based on dramaturgy and word. It is an exploration of rarely tackled themes on our stages, such as mourning and religiosity, approached with rawness and thoughtful lightness of tone, in constant dialectic with the power of the subject and attention to the word, to the audience's reception. The intention of the work is to immerse the audience in an intimate and private environment - our obsessions and fetishes, our idiosyncrasies and fragilities - into those uncomfortable and sticky places we tend to keep to ourselves. Within a small emotional epic that, sooner or later, we will all face.
