On Saturday, January 17th, the screening of the film The Storks of Chernobyl will take place at the Multifunctional Hall of the Parish of Cavarzano.
In the year of the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster (1986–2026), the docufilm “The Storks of Chernobyl” by Karim Galici, made in Sardinia, arrives in the Belluno area with an event that combines memory, culture, and civil reflection on one of the largest experiences of popular solidarity carried out in Italy and worldwide.
A documentary about welcome through the Chernobyl Project and the stories of some children who have seen their fate changed thanks to the solidarity of Italian families. In particular, the narrative focuses on the new lives of the “former Chernobyl children” after their experience in Sardinia, highlighting the generosity of the families, but also the strength of the young people who have found the possibility to “reborn.”
Between past, present, and future, “The Storks of Chernobyl” is a collection of stories where the experiences lived by the protagonists flow in a stream of references and flashbacks to continuously reconnect with the nuclear disaster from which everything began. Stories, not only of destruction, but also of bridges that have been built between people and peoples.
Free admission.
