Eight years after the referendum of June 2, 1946, the city is preparing to remember one of the most decisive moments in Italian history with an exhibition titled “The Republic Turns Eighty,” which will be inaugurated on Sunday, May 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the church of San Paoletto in Vittorio Veneto.
The exhibition, created with materials from the Archive and the Studies Service of the Chamber of Deputies, offers a journey through documents, photographs, and front pages of newspapers from the time, restoring the political and social climate of the days of the referendum and the Constituent Assembly.
The exhibition can be visited during the following hours: from Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
