On Saturday, October 3 at 3:00 p.m., there will be an animated guided tour of Mel titled On stage we travel. Mel, of Romans, Nobles and Prisoners, to discover the city in anticipation of Apples in Mel on the weekend of October 9-10-11.
The animated tour takes place in the historic center of Mel. Through the storytelling and explanations of tourist guide Valentina Pilotti and the theatrical animations of actors Cristina Gianni and Marco De Martin, they will bring to life stories, traditions, and legends born in the ancient village of Mel.
In the heart of Valbelluna, at the foot of the Dolomites, lies the ancient village of Mel, a small town rich in history. The route starts from the main square, dominated by the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata and surrounded by elegant noble palaces.
Accompanied by the guide, visitors will encounter characters from the past who will tell the history of the village. Among these are the Romans Marco Precellio and Durenia Seconda, who recall the ancient origins of Mel, and Elisabetta Papadopoli, one of the countesses linked to the Palace of the Countesses. The name of the palace actually comes from the two wives of its builder, Adriano Del Zotto, both countesses and named Elisabetta.
The route continues along the Carèra, the ancient road of the village, where the escape of the patriot Pier Fortunato Calvi, who sought refuge in Mel in 1848-1849, will be evoked. Near the Locanda Cappello, a Venetian noblewoman will recount a curious episode from her life.
The visit continues to Palazzo Fulcis, where a member of the historic Fulcis family will illustrate the importance of the family in the history and architecture of the Belluno territory.
The route concludes in the main square, in front of the Municipality, with the story of a female prisoner and her consort, who will offer a glimpse into the life of ordinary people and their relationship with justice.
At the end of the tour, there will be a wine tasting of local wine with cicchetto at the bar LA STRETTA, included in the price.
