The "Francesco" that art transmits. Announcement or normalization of an extraordinary life?
Virtus Zallot, graduated from IUAV in Venice, is an art historian and lecturer in Medieval Art History. She writes for "Il Giornale dell'Arte" and the magazine "Medioevo", publishes for Il Mulino di Bologna and engages in outreach activities. She studies medieval art as visual communication and investigates lesser-known histories and the imagination of the Middle Ages through both iconographic and literary sources.
Since 2008, she has been a lecturer in Medieval Art History at the Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia, where from 2010 to 2020 she also taught Pedagogy and Didactics of Art. She has conceived and coordinated numerous projects for the study, promotion, and enhancement of artistic heritage, drafted educational materials, conducted training activities for cultural operators, tour guides, and teachers, and organized events and educational workshops. She reports in conferences, conventions, and university seminars. She has published numerous essays in collective volumes and journals.
