I grandi carnivori d'Italia. Presentazione libro di Jessica Peruzzi

The “A. De Nardi” Natural Sciences Museum, in collaboration with the Library of the Bishop's Seminary, organizes a presentation of the book “The Great Carnivores of Italy: The Bear, the Wolf, the Golden Jackal, and the Lynx” by author Jessica Peruzzo on Saturday, September 5, at 3:30 p.m. in the Ranon Hall of the Bishop's Seminary in Vittorio Veneto.

The young writer, wildlife photographer, and science communicator discusses in this book the biology, history, ecology, and conservation challenges of the large carnivores present in Italy.
In light of recent news events, which report on wolf attacks in Cansiglio as well as in the Pedemontana and up to Vittorio Veneto, these are timely issues related to the return of large carnivores, encompassing monitoring, prevention of attacks, social consequences, and interactions between humans and predators, with the aim of overcoming stereotypes and polarization and clarifying these topics.
Thanks to over 150 photographs, clear language, and a structure organized by thematic chapters, the book offers a comprehensive, balanced, and updated view on the return of these predators.
After the presentation of the book, the museum staff will illustrate the new educational activities planned for the next year at the museum itself.
