On Sunday, June 8, 2025, the 80th edition of the Giro del Piave - Memorial Piergiorgio Sbardella will take place.
The historic road cycling route crosses the wonderful territory of Belluno between the right and left banks of the Piave.
This year, the race will cover 123 kilometers, starting from Lentiai di Borgo Valbelluna and finishing in the area of Melere (Borgo Valbelluna).
The race will touch numerous towns in the Belluno valley: after passing through the centers of Mel, Trichiana, and Limana, it will head to Ponte nelle Alpi and then to La Secca, circling around Lake Santa Croce (Farra d'Alpago, Bastia, and again La Secca). The itinerary then turns again towards Ponte nelle Alpi, then Belluno along the left bank of the Piave.
After touching Trichiana again at Cavassico, the race will cross the Piave at San Felice, then pass through Sedico, Mas, and Sospirolo, continuing to Dussano and Santa Giustina towards Busche.
After crossing the Piave again, the race will continue towards Lentiai and then Mel, passing through the center of the village and turning towards Trichiana, where it will finally proceed to Melere until the finish.
An edition of the Giro del Piave that, besides honoring Dr. Piergiorgio Sbardella, former mayor of Mel and international cycling judge, is also an opportunity to discover Valbelluna in its lesser-known areas.
