On Sunday, March 14 at 8:45 p.m., the show "Giovanna dei disoccupati - un apocrifo brechtiano" will take place as part of the 50th Season of Prose at the Teatro Comunale Dino Buzzati.
In this satirical comedy inspired by Bertolt Brecht, the idealist Giovanna Darko creates a virtual community aimed at defending workers' rights and giving a voice to the marginalized. Her mission soon attracts the attention of the cynical financier Pierpont Mauler, a powerful speculator who pretends to help her. In reality, the man intends to exploit the girl’s naivety and good faith to manipulate the market for his economic advantage. Giovanna thus finds herself catapulted into a ruthless labyrinth of algorithms, multinationals, and power games. The young heroine will have to fight to prevent her ideals and her community from being crushed by the merciless logics of profit.
