Futurism: Prophecy and Revolution - the new great summer exhibition at the Bafile Cultural Center.
The great masters of Futurism on display in Caorle!
Balla, Boccioni, Carrà, Depero, Russolo, Ambrosi, and many others...
An exhibition of over 60 works, promoted by the Municipality of Caorle and curated by Matteo Vanzan of MV Arte, aiming to tell the story of Futurism as the true great revolution that was able to renew not only the visual arts but, in some ways, life itself.
The works, coming from prestigious private and public collections such as the Artistic Heritage Banco BPM and the G. Caproni Aeronautics Museum of Trento, will alternate in a path of painting, sculpture, photography, posters, and applied art with particular attention to futurist publications like “Mafarka the futurist” from 1911 and “Zang Tumb Tumb” by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti from 1914, or “Guerrapittura” by Carlo Carrà from 1915 and “The Art of Noises” by Luigi Russolo from 1916.
“Futurism: Prophecy and Revolution” aims to offer visitors the broadest possible overview of the futurist movement, telling it not only in its aspect of aesthetic renewal but as the true “revolution of aesthetic and formal intents” that it was. From Filippo Tommaso Marinetti's Manifesto of 1909, this avant-garde has reached the present day influencing visual arts, music, literature, theater, and, in some ways, life itself.
As Marinetti wrote, “we affirm that the magnificence of the world has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed,” the exaltation of dynamism and this unstoppable push toward the new become the protagonists of this exhibition path that begins in 1901 and concludes in 1944. This exhibition aims to reflect on a movement that, seen in its entirety, appears as a true “creed,” a prophecy, and a compact and unitary revolution that influenced the very existence of all the artists who embraced Marinetti's ideals.
