From October 11 to January 11, the exhibition FRANCO FIABANE 1937-2015 will take place, dedicated to the late sculptor from Belluno, ten years after his passing, at Palazzo Fulcis.
Together with a fundamental coalition of entities – Province of Belluno, Municipality of Belluno, Rotary Club Belluno, BIM Piave Consortium – we wanted to honor his memory in the belief that even young generations can discover and appreciate the poetic vision of Franco Fiabane.
This retrospective exhibition tells us again about the artist and the marks he left on the territory. From Palazzo Fulcis, Museum of the City of Belluno, a path unfolds connected to his works: from the Church of Don Bosco to that of Polpet, from the Ponte degli Alpini to the bronze doors of the Church of Lentiai, from the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Nevegal to the Queen of the Dolomites on the Marmolada, up to the family home.
Works that express the spirit of Belluno's culture: humanity, simplicity, strength, genius, and beauty. A work that has become art, passed down from father to son. A cultural heritage that must be promoted as an expression of an authentic identity, sedimented over time, using stone and wood, fire and color.
Behind these materials, Franco has always been inspired, shaping his soul with a smile.
