On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Dino Buzzati's birth, the Civic Library of Belluno, in collaboration with the Ricci Museum, the Dino Buzzati Foundation of Milan, and other local entities, organizes the cultural event "Dino Buzzati: Feeling Carried by the Wind".
The program unfolds between September and October and includes two exhibitions, both expository and documentary, at Palazzo Crepadona and Palazzo Fulcis, lectures with scholars and experts, readings, creative workshops for children, and a performance at the Dino Buzzati Municipal Theater.

THE SQUARE OF THE MARTYRS FROM MARCO RICCI TO DINO BUZZATI. GENESIS OF A "MIRACLE"
The last of the thirty-nine "Miracles of Val Morel" entitled "The Martians" is set in the square of the ancient city of Cornia, invaded by extraterrestrials with long horns, while the inhabitants resist with the help of Saint Rita, who leads a blue aerial formation against the Martians' red alien spaceships.
By studying the image and examining the depicted buildings and church, it is discovered that, amidst chronicles of war and economic boom, the model was a 18th-century painting by Marco Ricci that Buzzati had seen at the Museum of Belluno. It also testifies to the intense debate that pitted the great journalist against his hometown at the end of the 1950s.
