On the occasion of its 60th birthday, the Alta Via 1 poses again to be photographed in all its captivating beauty.
As part of the celebrations for this prestigious anniversary, the Belluno section of the Italian Alpine Club has promoted a Photography Competition with the theme "The Alta Via 1 of the Dolomites. The landscapes it crosses, its mountains, and its nature".
The initiative aims to enhance and raise awareness of one of the most famous hiking routes in the Dolomites, inviting amateur and professional photographers to convey through images its beauty, natural environments, panoramas, wildlife, flora, and the people who traverse it.
Participation modalities:
Entry fee: € 10.00
Each participant may submit up to 3 photographs
The images can be in color or black and white, horizontal or vertical
Photographs must be sent by 12:00 p.m. on August 20, 2026 to the address info@caibelluno.it via SwissTransfer, indicating in the subject or message: “Photography Competition Alta Via 1”.
Jury and prizes:
The evaluation jury, composed of 5 photography experts and a representative of the Board of Directors of CAI Belluno, will be chaired by Manrico Dell’Agnola.
The following prizes will be awarded
- 1st prize: € 300
- 2nd prize: € 200
- 3rd prize: € 100
Special prizes offered by the initiative's partners are also anticipated.
The awarded photographs and those that receive special mention will be exhibited in a show in Belluno as part of the event “Beyond the Peaks – Metaphors, Men, Places of the Mountain”.
