The Frau Musika Orchestra is pleased to invite you to the traditional Christmas Concert, a special event that in this edition celebrates the dialogue between three giants of the eighteenth century, namely Händel, Bach, and Vivaldi, whose particularly bright and joyful pieces will be performed by the orchestra. The program opens with the exuberant Concerto Grosso Op. VI n. 1 by Händel, followed by an intense Salve Regina from the same composer interpreted by the solo voice of soprano Benedetta Zanotto. Next, violinists Paolo Tagliamento and Vikram Francesco Sedona engage in a dazzling duel of virtuosity in the overwhelming Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins and Orchestra by Bach. Finally, Vivaldi, who first raises the violinistic challenge with his sunny Concerto in G Major, then gives space to the piccolo of Irene Liebau in the Concerto in C Major RV 444, and finally bids us farewell with the poignant sweetness and longing for peace of the Motet “O qui coeli terraeque serenitas.”
