The cemetery of San Lorenzo and the stories that inhabit it
Event organized by the Civic Library of Caorle and the Pro Loco of Caorle for lovers of secrets and thrills.
The Napoleonic cemetery of San Lorenzo in Caorle will be the stage for CaorlèMistero 2025.
In this place rich with memory, families, individuals, decorations, and tombs will become a source of inspiration for stories and legends that have marked the history of Caorle.
Giulia Depentor, known as “the cemetery influencer,” during her journey through the cemeteries of Italy also stopped at the Napoleonic cemetery of Caorle. This event is intended to be an opportunity to experience and narrate an immersive experience inside our cemetery, discovering its stories and its tombs.
Because reading the gravestones, observing the photos of the deceased, and listening to the tales hidden among the stones can reveal surprises and captivating stories, seemingly insignificant, but deserving to be remembered and passed on.
Guided tours, readings, and narratives will accompany the audience in a memorable experience, involving readers and a local historian in giving voice to characters and events that, from the silence of the cemetery, come back to light to tell their adventures – or misadventures – in the fishing village of Caorle.
The stories passed down orally will be the common thread of a unique day, in an open-air theater where memory, mystery, and tradition intertwine.
There will also be a reference to the nearby Shrine of Our Lady of the Angel, a place of strong popular devotion, where faith merges with legends and beliefs that span the centuries and are part of the spiritual heart of the community.
The afternoon will conclude at the Civic Center with the presentation of the book ImMemoriam by Giulia Depentor.
