On Saturday, October 25, there will be "Once Upon a Time in Belodunum", an artistic and cultural walk guided through the historic center of the "Shining City", organized by Unpli Belluno with Proloco Pieve Castionese for the event series Veneto - Spectacles of Mystery.
A journey through time and space, to discover the places and characters that have marked the history of Belluno.
Against the backdrop of the Piave River that connects the city to the mountains as it flows towards Venice, we will encounter the Celts, who were the first, 2500 years ago, to choose to inhabit the hill where Ardo and Piave meet; Charlemagne, who with his Carolingian counts resurrected the city in the 9th century after the destruction by barbarians; Ezzelino da Romano who twice besieged Belluno in 1250; Endrighetto dal Bongaio, imperial vicar of Belluno and count of Alpago in the mid-14th century; and the nobles who, as Venice advanced, chose to remain faithful to the emperor without hiding their allegiance, proudly displaying an eagle in their coats of arms.
The route will conclude at the courtyard of Palazzo… where there will be a lavish feast for all participants.
Meeting point: in Piazza Duomo, at the entrance to the escalators (please arrive 5/10 minutes before your scheduled time).
