Eleonora Carrer presents the book "The coach is her. My story as a coach in men's basketball", a personal narrative that recounts her experience as a coach in a world traditionally dominated by men.
In conversation with the author will be Antonella Stelitano, with the participation of Lorenzo Iervolino.
Eleonora Carrer is among the very few women in Italy coaching a senior men's basketball team. Each week she passionately guides her boys in the gym of a small town in the Friuli province. On weekends she travels across the playing fields of Triveneto, challenging, in addition to the opposing teams, also the fierce prejudices of an environment convinced that the coach cannot be her: an ecosystem that rejects her for being a woman.
However, her detractors soon find themselves contending with the strength of her passion, the competence demonstrated from the bench, and the desire to open new doors for the women who will come. And when old and new wounds come due, the support of loved ones and the team will be essential to rise again.
An incisive and uncompromising memoir, born from an open letter written on the occasion of yet another glossy March 8, which went viral in a few hours and was signed by a woman in sports who dreams of being the last to have to "overcome the rotten and indifferent wall of gender hatred".
