Self-Portrait is an intimate and collective journey through memory, mafia, and identity. Enia uses Sicilian storytelling, dialect, the body, and music to present to the audience stories, faces, and names from Italy's recent history.
A work that combines civil commitment, poetry, and emotional strength, confirming the author's role as a leading figure in contemporary theater. An intimate and collective show that rewinds the thread on the events of Cosa Nostra that took place in Sicily, particularly in Palermo, through a careful personal and collective analysis spanning over 30 years, starting from the explosion on May 23, 1992, in Capaci that killed Judge Giovanni Falcone.
Written and performed by Davide Enia, music composed and performed by Giulio Barocchieri.
The show is a co-production between CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa, Accademia Perduta Romagna Teatri, and Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi.
