The weekends of May 16-17 and 23-24 will host "#SLIDING through images - Skiing, skating, and sledding through historical photographs and postcards of the Province of Belluno", a traveling exhibition making a stop at the Monte di Pietà in Fetre.
The traveling exhibition was designed by the Belluno Cultural and Press Circle to tell the story of Belluno winters through images from photographic archives and public and private collections of the Province of Belluno.
The theme of “sliding” on snow or ice is expressed through photographs and historical postcards taken between 1905 and the 1980s, in an operation to recover the memory of local traditions linked to means of transport and recreation, culminating in the evolution of equipment as elements of sporting practice that have since become Olympic disciplines (sledding, skeleton, bobsleigh, skating, skiing…).
A journey through emotions and photographic moments across twentieth-century Belluno.
