In the 18th century, Val Comelico was under the dominion of the Serenissima. Giacomo Poli, a wealthy timber merchant, after acquiring the Venetian noble title, erected a “Palazzo-villa” worthy of his renewed status between 1665 and 1668.
The palace today
You can observe, adjacent to the town square, the façade of the palace in all its original solemnity and elegance that reflects Venetian models.
Inside the palace, a large atrium with marble inlays featuring geometric patterns leads to the grand staircase that goes up to the noble floor where the wooden walkway accessing the rooms remains unchanged. After being purchased in 1813 by the de Pol family, the villa became the property of the Municipality of San Pietro about a century later due to the lack of heirs.
Thanks to the inclusion of the town hall within the palace, you can view its internal environments and appreciate all their extraordinary magnificence.
