Santuario di San Francesco di Paola

From the end of the 18th century until the first half of the 19th, the oratory was inhabited by hermits and became a destination for pilgrimages and popular devotion, especially during periods of epidemics. Inside the sanctuary, one can admire works by authors of some interest in the Venetian artistic scene, such as Antonio Lazzarini (Belluno, 1672-1732), Mathias Cremsl, the artist favored by Don Cumano for the warm chromaticism of his compositions, who commissioned him the majority of the paintings still preserved in the sanctuary, starting with the triptych that adorns the altar with the Madonna and Child, Saint Francis of Paola and the angel holding the emblem "Charitas" in the central canvas, signed and dated 1702, and Saint Albert and Saint Oswald in the side panels, Antonio Sasso, Giuseppe Venanzio, Antonio Tacco, Carlo Maria Cialdelli (known as Petrogalli from Foligno). Of particular interest are also the frescoes by Francesco Da Re located in one of the rooms above the sacristy, which represent the five joyful mysteries.
