Palazzo Poli - De Pol San Pietro di Cadore

Born in the height of the 1600s as a symbol of the social rise of the Poli family, Palazzo Poli represents one of the most refined examples of Venetian architecture in Cadore. The wealth accumulated from timber trade allowed the family to enter the nobility of the Serenissima and to create an elegant residence, inspired by the grand villas of the plains. The facade, of extraordinary harmony, leads to interiors rich in charm, where the atrium with marble floors, the monumental staircase, the wooden balcony, and the frescoes by Gerolamo Pellegrini testify to the ancient splendor of the residence. Acquired by the De Pol family in the 1800s and later becoming the seat of the Municipality of San Pietro di Cadore, the palace continues to be one of the most representative places of the history and identity of Comelico.
