Between the river terrace and the bed of the Piave, the Oasis of the White Fountains is a natural environment shaped by water. The name comes from the numerous springs that emerge in the area and the particular clarity of their waters, which nourish a dense network of small streams and water mirrors immersed in the vegetation throughout the year.
A naturalistic path of about 4 km allows you to enter the heart of the Oasis, crossing the floodplain forest, skirting the springs, and crossing the water branches via walkways. It is a place to explore slowly, paying attention to the sounds of the forest and the small changes in the landscape.
The constant presence of water encourages a remarkable variety of flora and fauna. In spring, one can observe orchids and other spontaneous blooms, while the forests and water mirrors provide shelter to numerous bird species, including migrants. Among those frequenting the Oasis are herons, mallards, woodpeckers, and the colorful kingfisher.
Especially evocative are the springs: their waters maintain a cool and fairly constant temperature, and on the hottest and most humid summer days, the contrast with the air can even promote the formation of light banks of fog above the water.
The Oasis is a fragile natural environment, to be experienced by following the paths and respecting the tranquility of the fauna and the habitats that characterize it.
