Set in the Belluno Prealps, in the Pian de le Femene area, stands the MuRes, the museum of the Resistance. Next to the building is a monument depicting a partisan supported by a woman, symbolizing the role of the civilian population in the partisan struggle.
The museum was established in 1994 at the behest of theANPI of Belluno and Treviso and is named after Agostino Piol. Between 2018 and 2025, it was renovated by volunteers from the "La Spasema" and "Divisione Nino Nannetti" sections, who oversee its management.
The MuRes is laid out over two levels: the ground floor dedicated to socializing and the upper floor for the exhibition path. The museologist Elisa Bellato has reimagined the display in an interactive key, with monitors for contributions from scholars and interviews with survivors and a touch screen to consult the profiles of the partisans.
The exhibition houses historical artifacts, including the original keys from Operation Baldenich, a piece of parachute from the Allied drops, and an original radio transceiver used by partisans.
The museum organizes commemorative events, such as the “anti-fascist pasta” on the Sunday closest to July 25th and the official ceremony on the first Sunday after Ferragosto in memory of the Mazzini and Tollot brigades.
It is open on weekends from June to September, without fixed hours, based on the availability of volunteers. Visits by reservation are also possible during the week by contacting the two ANPI sections.
The MuRes represents a focal point for deepening the history of World War II and the Resistance in Belluno and Treviso.
