Climbing up the via ferrata, the first 100 meters of elevation gain will be shared with the Via ferrata Zacchi. The via ferrata allows you to reach the Marmol pass in about 3:30 hours, at approximately 2262 m, passing by the fixed bivouac Bocco-Zago (where there is the possibility of overnight accommodation). The ferrata can also be used to reach the summit of Monte Pelf (from the Marmol pass, you need to follow the equipped path Marino Guardiano).
An challenging itinerary that allows you to reach, starting from Case Bortot and walking to the Rifugio VII Alpini - marked trail 501 about 3 hours from the parking lot, the Marmol pass on the Schiara, from where you can connect with other equipped routes such as the Ferrata Zacchi and the Sperti, which allow you to reach the Gusela del Vescovà and the Berti to ascend to the Schiara.
The Piero Rossi ferrata is truly striking and challenging; between the approach, the climb and the return time, it is easy to reach a total of 12 hours of travel, which is why it is often included in multi-day itineraries. The route is dedicated to Piero Rossi, a mountaineer and writer, a great connoisseur of the mountains and above all one of the earliest and most fervent advocates of the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites.
Access: From the city of Belluno, passing through the village of Bolzano Bellunese, you arrive in the Case Bortot area, where parking is available. From there, you reach the Rifugio 7º Alpini (trail number 501) in about 3 hours of walking and 1000 m of elevation gain. From the refuge, you reach in about 40 minutes the so-called "Portòn" (opening in the rock), starting point for the via ferratas Zacchi (trail marker 503) and Rossi (trail marker 514).
