The particular feature of the Church is its two facades: one facing west where the main entrance is located, adorned with three statues symbolizing Faith, Hope, and Charity; the other, which conceals the apse, overlooks the square. As decoration for the facade, there are statues representing the patron saint John the Baptist with Prudence and Justice on one side and Fortitude and Temperance on the other.
The interior, with a single nave, is in Baroque style, decorated with frescoes and paintings. On the central wall behind the altar, there is the large Assumption of the Virgin, after which the church is named.
