The I Boschi del Castagno farm is located in Valmorel, a fraction of Limana, surrounded by the green of the Belluno Prealps. In the early 2000s, Eugenio and Isabella decided to dedicate themselves to agriculture, starting a small operation that was among the first in the area to adopt organic methods.
The farm cultivates about one hectare of land using seasonal rotations and non-intensive techniques, following the natural cycles of the soil. The work is mainly done manually and aims to maintain a balance between agricultural production and environmental protection.
Over the years, the farm has also welcomed volunteers from various countries through the WWOOF network, who collaborate on agricultural activities and contribute to the exchange of experiences related to rural life.
The production of vegetables is limited but diversified and includes numerous seasonal varieties, such as potatoes, cabbages, tomatoes, beans, zucchini, salads, onions, and wild strawberries. The crops are selected based on the climatic conditions of the area.
I Boschi del Castagno represents a small agricultural reality that maintains a simple and direct approach to cultivation, enhancing the connection between land, seasons, and local production.
