The monument, imposing and majestic, consists of a core in the shape of a hexagon on which culminates the symbolic representation of the mountain, represented by a group of rocks that take on a human form in a warrior act of launching alpine eagles into flight. At the base of the figure, water gushes from three points of the rocks, like mountain springs, into three basins made of polished multicolored marble. The figure and the connected rocks are made of Istrian stone, while the eagles are made of statuary bronze, and the rest of the monument is made of marble.
The monument was completed after a year of work, with the transport of the worked blocks from Solighetto to Sernaglia, and for the excavations and foundation work, the entire population of Sernaglia collaborated.
On June 24th, the first stone of the monument was solemnly blessed.
The cost of the work was 50,000 lire, a sum that was raised by the Committee organizing celebrations, charity raffles during festive occasions, film representations, and more.
