The name "Vincheto" refers to the marsh area that was once excellent land for the cultivation and harvesting of "vinchi", the willow branches used to make baskets.
The area is bordered by the Piave River, the streams Caorame and Celarda, and numerous springs. It is located at the foothills of the Garda and Miesna mountains at about 300 meters above sea level in the municipality of Feltre and is easily accessible and walkable even for those with disabilities.
This protected area is a natural environment of extraordinary interest, a true paradise for animal lovers, who can admire deer, foxes, hares, squirrels, dormice, and moles in the wild over the 100 hectares distributed along the Piave river, as well as mouflons, deer, and fallow deer raised in captivity. The network of easy paths that crosses it allows visitors to effortlessly appreciate a true concentration of biodiversity, home to over 50 species of birds.
The Vincheto di Celarda Nature Reserve is a valuable natural treasure, just a few kilometers from the center of Feltre.
