Malga Cor, located at an elevation of 1,306 m between Col de le Poiatte and the Monte Pezza, is one of the main mountain huts of the Prealps. It also represents an important hiking reference point due to the numerous trails that cross the area.
The property belongs to the Stalla Sociale Simeone, an agricultural cooperative based in Castelfranco Veneto active in cattle breeding. The mountain hut has been restored while maintaining its traditional function related to grazing and pasture management.
Looking at the structure towards Valbelluna, the barn and the mountain hut are part of the original historic buildings, while the hay shed, once used by shepherds, has been restored from ruins and renovated in 2006 by Stalla Simeone. Today it is used during the grazing period.
During the summer, grazing animals are present and a fence runs along the entire property.
Malga Cor is a private property located in the homonymous area of Monte Cor. The buildings are not open for internal visits and there are no public services available. However, it remains a place of scenic and cultural interest, ideal for a brief stop immersed in the tranquility and views of the Belluno Prealps. In front of the barns, there is a bench frequently used by hikers for quick breaks and lunches.
