At the gates of Valpiana, along the road leading to Valmorel, lies the La Schirata farm. Established in 2004 by Giuseppe and Carla, the business is now run by the father along with his children Tommaso and Valentina. The farm covers about 16 hectares of meadows and pastures set in the Valmorel landscape. It is open all year round and also offers agritourism services on weekends, by reservation.
The business is based on an agricultural model that respects nature, animals, and the territory. The livestock includes around a hundred heads of sheep and goats. The artisan dairy production, which is certified organic, uses forage produced on the farm. Since 2007, goat cheeses have been made, and over time, sheep and mixed goat-sheep productions have been added.
The farm also raises pigs, donkeys, and horses, contributing to a diversified agricultural management. The cheeses can be purchased directly at the farm or at the weekly markets of Valbelluna.
La Schirata welcomes groups, families, and visitors interested in learning about mountain agricultural life. The farm offers moments of gathering, tastings, and activities to discover the territory, aiming to bring guests closer to the world of livestock farming and dairy production.
