La pista ciclabile lungo il Fiume Meschio

The bicycle path, which stretches for 5 kilometers along the Meschio River from Serravalle, is an opportunity to enjoy a landscape where history and nature go hand in hand. Since ancient times, the river has been of vital importance to the city; on its banks, craft workshops emerged where the "blades of Serravalle" were forged, swords famous for their robustness. The route begins at Piazza Flaminio, where one can stroll along the Meschietti, true hydraulic works that the residents of Serravalle built to contain the river after the flooding in 1521. Continuing along via Petrarca and passing the intersection with via A. Da Serravalle, the bicycle path begins on via Pastore. Along the way, one can still see the remnants of ancient mills and paper and wool factories that sprang up along the river starting from the 17th century. Important for the city's economy was the development of the silk industry, which involved raising silkworms at the farmers' homes and in silk farms, as well as processing the cocoons in the silk mills. The route concludes in the area of San Giacomo di Veglia, where one can visit the Silk Worm Museum, a precious testimony to this activity where women were primarily employed.
