In a strategic area for access to the city, the Municipality of Feltre has created a space of nearly 200 sqm where visitors can gather information and insights on the theme of the Great War: the testimonies present in Feltre and the museum realities related to the First World War are highlighted in some panels in both Italian and English, a map indicates the uses of streets, locations, public and private buildings during the conflict, thanks to a meticulous research on the cadastral maps of 1929. A small thematic library is available for consultation and reading, along with promotional materials and an internet station inviting visitors to explore the portal www.massicciodelgrappa.it
A wooden and metal structure, evoking the trench environment between Grappa and Piave, collects a selection of photographs offering insights into the sense of waiting and suspension experienced in war, an alternative view of the moments of battle and frenzy that shows columns of soldiers marching, the isolation of lookout posts, the desolation of those waiting for the return and surviving the fallen.
Moreover, the Info Point manages the adjacent camper area, the rental of electric bikes, and offers a bar for refreshments. It serves as a support point for various activities organized by local entities in this space, both in winter, with the establishment of a cross-country ski track, and in summer with horse racing during the Palio di Feltre and other cultural and sporting events.
