Park your vehicle in Lentiai and follow the trail marker n°2303 to walk towards the marvelous Archpriest Church of Santa Maria Assunta, National Monument since 1880.
Let yourself be amazed by the majesty of the precious coffered ceiling, whose twenty artworks included have been painted by Cesare Vecellio, and admire the polyptych painted by the workshop of Titian.
Along the three naves, many other valuable paintings and sculptures await. Continue through the typical countryside landscape, among fields and meadows, leading you to the hamlet of Cesana, on the banks of the Piave, with the little church of San Bernardo, recorded as early as 1295.
A little further on, in the hamlet of Villapiana, is the church of San Bartolomeo whose Last Supper with the shrimp is a specialty that can be found along the entire course of the Piave. Both little churches are open to visitors during certain times of the year.
At Ronchena, the ascent begins among woods and clearings, gradually revealing the landscape between the Piave and the Dolomites in all its beauty. With a small detour from the route, you can discover the waterfall of “Pisotona.” A little further ahead, you will encounter the Hermitage of San Donato of likely Longobard origin but documented only in 1529, with its beautiful frescoes, open to visitors during festivals and dedicated processions.
Continue to the village of Colderù with the little church dedicated to San Giacomo, and take the descent to return to your car along the “Path of the Painted Capitals”: ten capitals painted by as many contemporary artists with symbolic references to traditions and trades typical of our territory.
