Ancient seat of a Jewish community in Ceneda, the Ghetto was inhabited since the end of the 14th century. Inside, a pawnshop was opened at the express request of Bishop MarcAntonio Mocenigo during a time of severe economic crisis. Later seen as a threat, throughout the 17th century, their expulsion was repeatedly requested, and in 1768, they were prohibited from trading in "grain and wine": a ban that was revoked two years later. In memory of the community, there is currently a porticoed building, once a grain warehouse, a plaque from 1771, and the cemetery located near that of Ceneda. There was also a synagogue, which remained in operation until 1910. In the 1950s, it was dismantled and transferred with its furnishings to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
