The Mas cliff extends at the foot of Piz de Vedana and consists of a multitude of limestone boulders, some very large, immersed in a small woods.
This conformation, unique in the panorama of the cliffs of Belluno, is the "Marocche del Cordevole" and is the result of some huge landslides detached from Mount Peron due to the retreat of the glacier that occupied the valley until about 15000 years ago. The wounds produced by this geological upheaval are still evident on the mountain. The deposits of these landslides were then reworked by the retreating glacier giving rise to the mysterious landscape that meets those who today want to try the delicate passages that the blocks of the Mas can offer. The crag of the Mas has short itineraries (at most 15 meters) and very technical; some routes have a state of bolting now outdated, it is advisable to pay close attention. Attention also to walk the paths that connect the various boulders, presence of holes! Finally, a final recommendation, the cliff is located entirely on private land, it is therefore recommended to behave respectfully of the property of others.
Access:
Once reached the hamlet of Mas di Sedico, cross the bridge over the Cordevole and then arrive in Ponte Mas. Just after the bridge, turn right and follow a road that after a while will run along the quarry area, after the same turn left following an asphalt road. After about 100 m choose the road on the left that goes into the woods and park (neatly! Passage of vehicles) at a clearing. From here follow the obvious path that, crossing the bush, points towards the boulders. It is recommended not to go out the trail and walk on the meadows not to disturb the work of the farmers.
