The civic library "Carlo Pais" was established in 1959 on the top floor of Palazzo Mazzolà – the town hall – and was spared from the tragedy of Vajont in 1963.
After various relocations, the location was defined in the 1980s in the building of the former elementary schools (built in the second half of the 19th century) which has recently been restored; currently, the library holds around 20,000 books, has 45 reading seats, and collects a significant amount of documentation related to the Vajont disaster.
The building also includes an 80-seat conference room named "Peoples of Europe," the headquarters of the Cadore Longaronese Zoldo Mountain Community, and a Culture and Sports office.
